Description
Next: Winter Wonderland
Cadence flopped down in her desk chair and spun around a few times, staring up at the ceiling. The weather was turning colder, and Whinny had gone into false labor earlier that morning. The vet assured them that at Whinny's age it wasn't unheard of, but that everything should be just fine. Both her and her foal's vitals were strong and healthy.
She mindlessly scrolled through her Facebook notifications, pausing every so often when a horse popped into the newsfeed. Usually, it was a friend who was posting pictures of their horse. Most recently, it was a face she knew pretty well.
When Hickory Ridge had purchased Ben, Cadence had thoroughly researched his offspring. She had not just been looking for a good show horse; she had been looking for a stallion who could also be one of the foundations of their Friesian Sport Horse breeding program. So, when his daughter's face appeared in a "Horses for Sale" group she had watched on Facebook, Cadence stopped in her tracks.
The person posting the ad was a woman named Judith Harrison, who owned a Georgian Grande breeding farm in Tennessee. She had posted roughly ten images of the mare, ranging from foal to current, along with an ad that read: Offering for sale "Khaki's Bad Dilemma," a four year old Gold Champagne Georgian Grande mare. Sired by Friesian stallion "Ima Bad Boy" and out of American Saddlebred mare "Khaki," this young mare displays the best of both breeds. "Kandi," as we call her, has some show experience in in-hand classes. She behaves excellently and has no problems trailering, or with noise from the crowd. She would be an excellent asset to any Georgian Grande breeding program.
Cadence flipped through the pictures multiple times, carefully examining each one. She had excellent conformation, and had inherited her father's massive feathers. She tried every excuse in the book, but couldn't think of an excuse not to at least inquire about her. Hickory Ridge owned her father, the filly was half Friesian and could therefore be registered as both a Georgian Grande and a Friesian Sport Horse, she had excellent conformation, and a beautiful color. She could really propel their breeding program.
Before she could think of a reason not to, Cadence clicked on Judith's picture and opened up the messenger. She would have this filly.
GUYS I JUMPED ON THE GEORGIAN GRANDE BAND WAGON AND I DON'T REGRET IT!
The reference for this lovely girl is on its way
(the pictures above are her with her mother, and her first time with a halter)
