Gnidia glauca is a large, much-branched shrub that can grow up to 6 metres tall, or can become a tree that grows up to 15 metres tall, exceptionally to 24 metres. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine, source of fibre and insecticide. It is a good kindling for starting fires. The leaves caused swelling that was not painful and is commonly used by people to swell up the udder of the cattle that are up for sale.
