Titans lose depth at inside linebacker with latest injury

The Tennessee Titans are losing some depth at the inside linebacker position.

Head coach Brian Callahan spoke with the media before Wednesday’s training camp session and indicated that Garret Wallow tore his pectoral muscle and will be placed on injured reserve (IR), effectively ending his season.

The 25-year-old was signed off the Houston Texans practice squad last season and made it in three games, mainly in a special teams role. However, Wallow was listed in the second-string slot on the Titans’ first unofficial depth chart earlier this week.

Wallow was drafted out of TCU in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft and amassed 42 tackles, including three tackles for loss and one sack in part of three seasons with the Texans.

With Wallow done for the year, the Titans will look for one of Chance Campbell, Cedric Gray, Otis Reese IV, Luke Gifford, and JoJo Domann to step up in his absence.

Tennessee plays its first preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night.
