A Peak XV-backed school declares war on IIT coaching—by hiring 200 IITians

Hello A P As the writer of this piece, I could say the same. I hate to see people cast aspersions on stories based on their presumptions. I am sorry but I take exception to such comments. I spent over 8days reporting on this story. Yes we did say that the school is trying to break the back of coaching industry by hiring IITians but then did you miss the part where we quoted coaching experts saying it will take more than just a few IITians to take away their crown? Did you also miss the part where we said the school is desperate for an image makeover owing to the numerous cases filed by parents against it in several cities? And did you not see the part where we wrote about Orchids B2B vertical where these IITians will also generate content - translation, more money for the company. And the part about them taking advantage of bad placement seasons but what happens when the job market corrects? I am guessing you were in a hurry so you probably missed reading the conflict which we pointed at every stage. When writers write stories that narrates a grim situation at a company, they are accused of doing "hit" pieces. When writers write stories of an initiative which can elevate a company, its called a "paid" piece. Sad.
