View and sort clips in the browser in Final Cut Pro for iPad
In Final Cut Pro, you can change the shape of clip thumbnails in the browser, show or hide clip names, and sort clips by a variety of criteria.
Change the shape of clip thumbnails in the browser
By default, all clip thumbnails in the browser have a square shape (to maximize how many clips are shown at once). You can also show clip thumbnails in their original aspect ratio.
In Final Cut Pro for iPad, open a project.
Tap in the toolbar.
Tap at the top of the browser, then tap Aspect Ratio.
The clip thumbnails in the browser are shown in their original aspect ratio.
To display square thumbnails again, tap at the top of the browser, then tap Square.
Show or hide clip names in the browser
Sort clips in the browser
By default, clips are shown in alphabetical order (by clip name), but you can also sort them by import date, capture date, duration, or media type.
In Final Cut Pro for iPad, open a project.
Tap in the toolbar.
Tap at the top of the browser.
If the browser is set to show clips in their original aspect ratio, tap at the top of the browser instead.
Do any of the following:
Sort clips by a property: Tap Sort By, then tap a property (Import Date, Capture Date, and so on) to use for sorting.
Set the sort order: Tap Sort By, then tap either Ascending or Descending.
