Troubleshoot Japanese on Mac when input is slow
If you’re using a keyboard that’s connected to your computer with a cable (not a wireless keyboard), make sure the keyboard cable is correctly connected.
If you have another keyboard, try connecting it. If you can enter characters more quickly with the second keyboard, the original keyboard may not be working correctly.
On your Mac, do any of the following:
Make sure that the app lets you enter characters.
In the Keyboard Viewer, make sure the characters displayed correspond to the characters you press on the keyboard.
If you think that converting every character may be causing characters to display slowly or not at all, turn off Live Conversion. Instead, use traditional conversion.
