Use Control Centre on your iOS device with Apple TV
You can use Apple TV controls in Control Centre on an iOS device. If you have a device with iOS 12 or later, these controls are automatically activated when the device connects with Apple TV, such as during setup or when entering text with the keyboard.
If you have a device with iOS 11, you can activate Apple TV controls manually in Settings on the device.
Add Apple TV controls to Control Centre
On the iOS device, go to Settings > Control Centre, then tap Customise Controls.
Tap the Add button
next to Apple TV Remote in the More Controls list to add it to Control Centre.
Open Apple TV controls in Control Centre
On your iOS device, swipe to open Control Centre, then tap the Apple TV icon
