Create a custom bass amp model in GarageBand on Mac
You can create your own bass amp model using the Amp and Cabinet pop-up menus, located at the bottom of the Bass Amp Designer window. After choosing an amp and cabinet, you can choose and place the microphone, use the bass amp controls and adjust bass amp effects to further customise the sound.
Note: After you create your own custom bass amp model, you can save it as a custom patch in the Library.
Choose a bass amplifier
Choose an amplifier that provides the tone you want. For brief descriptions of each amplifier, see Choose a bass amp model in GarageBand on Mac.
Choose a bass cabinet
The cabinet you choose from the Cabinet pop-up menu can have a big impact on the character of a bass guitar sound. Certain amplifier and cabinet pairings have been popular for decades, but you can try new combinations to create fresh-sounding tones. Bass Amp Designer lets you choose a classic pairing, or experiment with different amplifier and cabinet combinations.
Choose a speaker cabinet to use with the current amplifier.
