iMac (24-inch, 2023) Housing
Before You Begin
Remove the following parts before you begin:
iMac (24-inch, 2023, Two ports)
iMac (24-inch, 2023, Four ports)
iMac (24-inch, 2023, Two ports) Housing
iMac (24-inch, 2023, Four ports) Housing
Tools
Nylon probe (black stick) (optional)
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.
Removal
Caution: Place the housing on a clean, flat surface or soft cloth to avoid scratching the housing.
The housing includes the following removable parts, which are available separately:
Ambient light sensor and microphone flex cable (923-09595)
Audio board (923-09606)
Audio board and power button flex cable (923-09597)
Battery board (923-09598) (Four ports only)
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna (923-09603)
Wi-Fi antenna (923-09605)
The housing includes the following nonremovable parts, which are not available separately:
Display hangers
Speakers
Speaker back volumes
Center Wi-Fi antenna
To remove the amblent light sensor (ALS) and microphone flex cable, first gently release the adhesive between the cable and the enclosure.
Note: The following image shows the iMac (24-inch, 2023, Four ports), but the steps are the same for the iMac (24-inch, 2023, Two ports).
Use the flat end of the black stick to press and hold the “PUSH” button on the zero-insertion force (ZIF) ALS and microphone flex cable connector (1). Then slide the end of the cable out of the connector (2).
Reassembly
To reinstall the ALS and microphone flex cable, slide the end of the cable into the connector.
Then press the cable to adhere it to the enclosure.
Important: Route the ALS and microphone flex cable under the audio board and power button flex cable.
Note: The following image shows the iMac (24-inch, 2023, Four ports), but the steps are the same for the iMac (24-inch, 2023, Two ports).
Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
