Check your iCloud storage on any device
You can see a graph of how much iCloud storage you’re using and which apps and features are using the most storage on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Windows device.
You automatically get 5 GB of free storage. You can get more storage when you upgrade to iCloud+.
About iCloud storage categories
You may see the following categories in the storage indicator:
Backups: iCloud backups of your iPhone or iPad. See What is iCloud Backup?
Family: The amount of storage used by family members if you share an iCloud+ subscription with your Family Sharing group. See Use iCloud+ with your family.
Mail: Mail from your iCloud Mail address and your custom domain addresses. See Send and receive iCloud Mail on all your devices and keep Mail settings up to date and Personalize iCloud Mail with a custom email domain and share with others.
Messages: Messages you send and receive using iMessage and any attachments. See Keep your messages up to date with iCloud.
Photos and Videos (or Photos): Photos and videos stored in iCloud Photos. See Share photos and videos and keep them up to date with iCloud.
Documents (or Docs): Files and information stored in iCloud Drive, as well as data from other apps that aren’t listed above—for example, Notes, Reminders, Health, and third-party apps. To learn about apps that can store information in iCloud, see Apps and features that use iCloud.
Others: You may see Others on a device with a smaller screen because there’s not enough room to list all categories. Usually, your three largest storage categories show their accurate category names and the rest of your categories are grouped into Others.
