Manage notifications from Weather on Mac
You can receive notifications about government-issued severe weather alerts or when precipitation is about to start or stop at a location.
Note: Severe weather alerts are not available in all countries or regions.
Turn Weather notifications on or off
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Notifications in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Go to Application Notifications on the right, click Weather, then turn “Allow notifications” on or off.

Manage notifications by location
After you turn on Weather notifications, you can choose to receive government-issued severe weather alerts and precipitation notifications for each of your locations.
Go to the Weather app on your Mac.
Choose Weather > Settings, then click the Notifications pane.
For each location, select or unselect any of the following tick boxes:
Severe Weather: Receive notifications about government-issued severe weather alerts.
Next-Hour Precipitation: Receive notifications when precipitation, such as rain or snow, is about to start or stop.
Note: The options available change depending on whether the notification is available for a select country or region.
Change Weather notification options
You can change the Weather notification style, allow time-sensitive alerts, play a sound when you get a notification and more.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Notifications in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Go to Application Notifications on the right, click Weather, then set your preferred notification options.
