Change Files preferences in Music on Mac
In the Music app on your Mac, use the Files pane in Music preferences to set and organise your Music Media folder.
To change these preferences, choose Music > Preferences, then click Files.

Music Media folder location | To change where songs and other files you import into Music are located, click Change. To change back to the original location for files (Music/Music), click Reset. | ||||||||||
Keep Music Media folder organised | Automatically put imported music into folders for album and artist. | ||||||||||
Copy files to Music Media folder when adding to library | Copy an item to the Music Media folder when you drag the item to the Music window. If you want items to appear in Music but also remain in their original location, deselect this tick box. For example, you can keep music imported from CDs on your computer and save your music video files on an external storage device. Pressing the Option key while dragging temporarily reverses the current tick box setting. | ||||||||||
