Get macOS updates and apps
You can get macOS updates, including security updates and apps that come with macOS, in macOS System Settings. And you can download Mac apps and Safari extensions in the App Store.
Get macOS updates
Choose Apple menu
in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)Click Software Update.
If there’s an available update, follow the on-screen instructions for installation.
Get Mac apps
On your Mac, choose Apple menu
Search for and install apps.
