Use the Media Sharing pane of Sharing preferences to set options for Home Sharing and sharing your media library.
To change these preferences on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Sharing , then select Media Sharing.

Media Sharing
The Media Sharing status indicator is green when media sharing is on.
Turn on media sharing: Select either Home Sharing or “Share media with guests.”
Turn off media sharing: Deselect Media Sharing in the service list.
Library Name
The name of your media library (you can change the name). This name is shown on other computers that share your library.
Home Sharing
Select Home Sharing to access your media library on all your devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID.
Select Home Sharing options:
Devices update play counts: When this option is selected, play counts (the number of times an item has been played) for items in your media library are updated when the items are played on other computers in your Home Sharing network, or on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Share photos with Apple TV: Select to view photos on Apple TV, then click Choose to select Apple TV photo sharing options.
The Apple TV photo sharing options are:
Share Photos from: Click the pop-up menu, then choose Photos or “Choose folder” to select a folder that contains photos.
Share: Select either “All photos and albums” or “Selected albums.”
Options: Select “Include videos” if you want to share videos.
Albums, People, or Folders: Choose the items you want to share.
Share media with guests
Select this option to share your media library with other computers on the same network. For others to access your media library, your Mac must be turned on.
Click Options to select sharing options:
Protect your media library: Select the Require Password checkbox, then enter a password.
Share all media in your library: Select “All songs, movies, and TV shows.”
Share only certain media: Select “Selected playlists,” then select the items you want to share.
