Find out if the optical drive on your Mac can burn discs
An optical drive is used to play, and sometimes burn, CDs and DVDs. Some Mac computers come with built-in optical drives; you can also use an external optical drive (for example, an Apple USB SuperDrive.)
To find out whether your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs and what types it can burn, use About This Mac.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > About This Mac.
Click System Report, click Disc Burning, then review the information for your optical drive.
Thanks for your feedback.
