Control access to your microphone on Mac
Some apps and websites can use the microphone on your Mac to capture or record audio. You can decide which apps are allowed to use the microphone.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy.
Click Microphone.
Select the checkbox next to an app to allow it to access the microphone. Deselect the checkbox to turn off access for that app.
If you turn off access for an app, you’re prompted to turn it on again the next time that app tries to use your microphone.
If you allow third-party apps or websites to use your microphone information, you are subject to their terms and privacy policies and not the Apple Privacy Policy. You should review their terms and privacy policies to understand how they treat and use your information. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
