Set up Screen Time for yourself on Mac
On your Mac, turn on Screen Time to learn how you spend time on your Mac and other devices. When Screen Time is turned on, you can view reports that show app usage, the number of notifications you receive, and how often you use your devices.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Screen Time .
If you’re a member of a Family Sharing group, click the pop-up menu in the sidebar, then choose yourself.
If you aren’t using Family Sharing, you won’t see a pop-up menu in the sidebar.
Click Options in the lower-left corner of the sidebar.
Click Turn On in the upper-right corner.
Select any of the following options:
Share across devices: Select this option if you want Screen Time reports to include time spent on other devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
This option is available only when you’re signed in with your Apple ID.
Use Screen Time Passcode: Select this option to secure Screen Time settings, and to require a passcode to allow additional time when limits expire.
If you want to, do any of the following:
Click Downtime in the sidebar, then set up a downtime schedule.
Click App Limits in the sidebar, then set time limits for apps and websites.
Click Communication Limits in the sidebar, then set communication limits.
Click Always Allowed in the sidebar, then choose apps that can be used at any time.
Click Content & Privacy in the sidebar, then set up content & privacy restrictions.
