Restore iPod touch from a computer backup
Using USB, connect a new or newly erased iPod touch to the computer containing your backup.
Do one of the following:
In the Finder sidebar on your Mac: Select your iPod touch, then click Trust.
To use the Finder to restore iPod touch from a backup, macOS 10.15 or later is required. With earlier versions of macOS, use iTunes to restore from a backup.
In the iTunes app on a Windows PC: If you have multiple devices connected to your PC, click the device icon near the top left of the iTunes window, then select your new or newly erased iPod touch from the list.
On the welcome screen, click “Restore from this backup,” choose your backup from the list, then click Continue.
If your backup is encrypted, you must enter the password before restoring your files and settings.
See the Apple Support articles Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup and If you can’t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
