Use the Flow transition to merge jump cuts in Final Cut Pro for iPad
The Flow transition seamlessly merges jump cuts to remove pauses or mistakes in on-camera interviews.
In Final Cut Pro for iPad, open a project.
Tap in the toolbar, then tap Transitions in the browser.
Do one of the following:
From the browser, drag the Flow transition thumbnail over an edit point in the timeline until a vertical white insertion line appears between the clips, then release your finger.
In the timeline, tap the clip to the right of the jump cut’s edit point; then, in the browser, tap the Flow transition thumbnail. Tap in the Edit Mode control below the browser, tap Add to Start in the menu, then tap the Add to Start button.
Tip: For best results when using the Flow transition to fix jump cuts, limit the transition’s duration to 6 frames (the default).
For best playback quality, render the transition after you add it or modify it.
