Rename clips in Final Cut Pro for iPad
Some media that you import into Final Cut Pro may have numeric or otherwise undescriptive filenames. You can rename imported clips in the browser or in the timeline to keep your project organized.
Rename clips in the browser
In Final Cut Pro for iPad, open a project.
Tap in the toolbar, then, in the browser, tap the thumbnail of the clip you want to rename.
Tap Inspect in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Tap the clip name at the top of the inspector.
Enter a new name for the clip, then tap Done in the onscreen keyboard.
Rename clips in the timeline
In Final Cut Pro for iPad, open a project.
In the timeline, tap the clip you want to rename.
Tap Inspect in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Tap at the top of the inspector.
Tap the clip name below Clip Settings & Info.
Enter a new name for the clip, then tap Done in the onscreen keyboard.
Note: Renaming a clip in the timeline does not rename the corresponding source clip in the browser.
