All about Apple Fitness+
When you subscribe to Apple Fitness+, you get access to a catalog of workouts, including HIIT, Yoga, Core, Cycling, Strength, Treadmill (running and walking), Dance, and more. When you wear your Apple Watch Ultra during a workout, metrics, like heart rate and calories burned, are shared to your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV while you work out, and sync with your daily activity data when you finish a workout.
With iOS 16.1 or later, you don’t need an Apple Watch to use Apple Fitness+. Just open the Fitness app on iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.1 or later, tap Fitness+, then choose a workout. For more information about Apple Fitness+ on iPhone, see Get started with Apple Fitness+ on iPhone in the iPhone User Guide.
Note: Workouts you perform without an Apple Watch won’t display some personal metrics, such as heart rate and calories.
You can also participate in guided meditations designed to help you improve your overall sense of well-being.
Note: Apple Fitness+ isn’t available in all countries or regions.
Choose a workout
When it’s time to work out, you have lots of options. To help you pick, you can see details for every workout, like its playlist and music genre, whether the workout has closed captions, as well as any equipment you might need for the workout, such as dumbbells or a mat (most workouts do not require equipment). You can also preview the workout before you get started.
Find a trainer
Each of the Apple Fitness+ trainers bring their unique personality, taste in music, and training style to their workouts. You can read a bio for each trainer and see a list of every trainer’s workouts in the Fitness app.
See your stats
During your workout, track your progress for each of your rings. When working out with your Apple Watch, you can additionally check out your heart rate and calories burned, right on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.
With watchOS 9, Fitness+ workouts now show onscreen guidance in addition to trainer coaching to help you get the most out of workouts. Onscreen stats include Intensity for HIIT, Cycling, Rowing, and Treadmill; Strokes per Minute (SPM) for Rowing; Revolutions per Minute (RPM) for Cycling; and Incline for walkers and runners in Treadmill.
Cycling, HIIT, Rowing, and Treadmill workouts also display the Burn Bar, which shows how your metrics compare to others who have done the workout before. The more calories you burn, the higher you land on the Burn Bar. Your position on the Burn Bar is saved in your workout summary along with your other metrics.
