Mute student devices with Classroom
You can mute students’ devices (nearby classes only). This sets the volume to zero. If students want to, they can then manually increase the volume again.
Note: This action decreases the volume for media only. System sounds and alerts can still be heard.
Mute multiple students’ devices (nearby classes only)
In Classroom
, select a class in the sidebar.Do one of the following:
Select All Students in the sidebar.
Select a specific group in the sidebar.
Manually create a group, then select it in the sidebar.
Click Select in the upper-right corner of the screen, select specific students, then click Done.
In the row of actions, click the Actions button
, then click Mute 
to mute the device for each student.Click Done.
Mute a single student’s device (nearby classes only)
In Classroom
, select a class in the sidebar.Select the student.
The Actions window appears.
Click Mute
to mute the device for the student.Click Done.
