In image processing and photography, the color temperature at which white objects actually appear white. It’s best practice to get an accurate white balance when recording to reproduce white as true white. For example, if the white in a shot is too yellow because of incandescent lighting, you can white balance to add enough blue to make the white appear neutral. White balance can also be manipulated in post production using color correction tools.
