Play Surface

Logic Pro for iPad features a variety of Play Surfaces that you can use to play any of the included software instruments. There are Keyboard, Fretboard, and Drum Pads Play Surfaces as well as Chord Strips and Guitar Strips. An enhanced version of the Drum Pads Play Surface is also available when you use Drum Machine Designer.

By default, the Play Surface shown depends on the type of instrument patch loaded on the selected software instrument track. However, you can play any software instrument with any of the Play Surfaces.

You can switch the Play Surface using the Surface Types button. The Side Controls button gives you access to the performance controls, including pitch bend and modulation wheels.
