Direct response template specs
The following direct response template specifications are for Workbench only.
Direct response template variations
Direct response template ads can run in-article and in-feed on Apple News. When choosing this ad format, you must choose one of the following five variations:
Brand - Center Image
Brand - Right Image
Brand - Left Image
News Article - Right Image
News Article - Left Image
The three brand variants support external URL destinations, and the two News article variants are available for ads with Apple News Format (ANF) destinations.
Ad creation for the brand variants in Workbench requires an image upload and allows you to customize copy to support the URL destination. For the News article variants, an Article ID for the ANF destination is required — no content upload is required, as it’s auto-generated using contents of the article.
Note that portrait orientation asset will be used and will be pillar-boxed when the Apple News app is in the landscape orientation mode.
Note that iPad may include Apple Vision Pro devices.
Brand variant specifications
The three brand variant options are available for ads with supported external URL destinations (see below). Ad creation for the brand variants in Workbench requires an image upload and allows you to customize the copy.
Enter text for the title of the ad, with limit of 150 characters for right and left variants, and 90 characters for Brand Center Image. To balance text and white space in your ad, we recommend that your tagline be 20-30 characters in length, and the description closer to 80 characters.
