iPhone 15 Pro Max Bottom Speaker

Before You Begin

 Warning

Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.

Remove the following part before you begin:

Tools

  • 6.7-inch repair tray

  • Adjustable torque driver (10–34 Ncm)

  • ESD-safe tweezers

  • JCIS bit (adjustable torque driver)

  • JCIS bit (fixed driver)

  • Nylon probe (black stick)

  • Torque driver (gray, 0.55 kgf cm)

 Caution

Avoid touching the grounding springs on the bottom speaker.

Removal

  1. Place the enclosure in the repair tray with the USB-C connector facing the cutout.

  2. Use a torque driver and the JCIS bit to remove four crosshead screws from the bottom speaker. Set aside the screws.

  3. Use ESD-safe tweezers to grasp the top right screw hole on the top of the bottom speaker. Slightly tilt up the bottom speaker. Then use the black stick to separate the battery shim from the bottom speaker.

  4. Use ESD-safe tweezers to lift the bottom speaker out of the enclosure.

Reassembly

  1. Rotate the repair tray. Ensure that the rubber gasket is positioned as shown. If the gasket is misaligned, loose, or missing, use ESD-safe tweezers to realign or replace it.

  2. Rotate the repair tray. Align the port on the bottom speaker with the rubber gasket. Then tilt down the bottom speaker into the enclosure.

  3. Set the torque on the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver to 14.5 Ncm. Use the adjustable torque driver and adjustable torque driver JCIS bit to install one new crosshead screw (923-10047) (1) into the bottom speaker.

  4. Set the torque on the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver to 11.5 Ncm. Use the adjustable torque driver and the adjustable torque driver JCIS bit to install the following new screws into the bottom speaker.

    • One crosshead screw (923-09810) (2)

    • One crosshead screw (923-10049) (4)

  5. Use the gray torque driver and JCIS bit to install one new crosshead screw (923-09800) (3) into the bottom speaker.

    •  Caution: Don't damage the grounding springs on the speaker.

Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:
