iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021, Four ports) Battery Board Cable

Before You Begin

Removal

1. Position the housing with the back facedown and the top closest to you.

   

2. Gently peel up the polyester film tape attached to the housing in the area shown. Don’t remove the tape from the battery board cable. Remove the cable from

   the housing.

   

3. Use the black stick to lift the end of the battery board cable off the connector on the logic board. Then lift the other end of the battery board cable off the connector on the battery board.

   

Reassembly

1. Position the battery board cable in the housing as shown. Press one end of the battery board cable to the connector on the logic board (1). Then press the other end of the cable to the battery board (2).

   

2. Adhere the polyester film tape to the battery board cable and housing as shown.

   • Important: If you're installing a replacement battery board cable, peel the adhesive backing off the tape before you adhere it to the housing.

   

Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:

• Logic board cover

• Display
