Delete and recover notes on iCloud.com
You can delete notes you no longer need. You can also recover recently deleted notes within 30 days.
Delete a note
In Notes on iCloud.com, select the note you want to delete.
Click in the Notes toolbar.
When you delete a note, it’s moved to the Recently Deleted folder on iCloud.com and on your devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID. You can view and recover notes in the Recently Deleted folder for up to 30 days before they’re permanently removed from all your devices. If you want to edit notes in the Recently Deleted folder, you must first recover them.
Recover recently deleted notes
You can recover and edit notes you deleted in the last 30 days on iCloud.com or on your devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID. However, you can’t recover notes you permanently removed.
In Notes on iCloud.com, select Recently Deleted in the folder list on the left.
If you don’t see Recently Deleted, you don’t have any notes in that folder and there’s nothing to be recovered.
Select a note, then click Recover in the Notes toolbar.
The note moves to the Notes folder.
If you want to move a recovered note directly to a folder you created, drag the note from the Recently Deleted folder to another folder.
Note: If you delete a shared note that you don’t own, the note doesn’t move to your Recently Deleted folder. See Delete shared notes on iCloud.com.
Permanently remove deleted notes
You can immediately permanently remove notes that you deleted in the last 30 days on iCloud.com or on your devices that and are signed in with the same Apple ID.
In Notes on iCloud.com, select Recently Deleted in the folder list on the left.
If you don’t see Recently Deleted, you don’t have any recently deleted notes.
Select a note you want to permanently remove, then click in the Notes toolbar.
The selected note is removed immediately from all your devices.
Notes you leave in the Recently Deleted folder are automatically and permanently removed after 30 days.
To learn what happens when you delete a shared note and how to recover a deleted shared note, see Delete shared notes on iCloud.com.
