Lock the screen of your Mac
You can keep your Mac secure by locking the screen.
Immediately lock the screen of your Mac
Do any of the following:
On your Mac, choose Apple menu
Press Touch ID, if it’s available on your Mac or Magic Keyboard.
Press the Lock Screen button, if it’s available on your Magic Keyboard.
Unlock your Mac
Do any of the following:
Press any key, then enter your password.
Use Touch ID, if it’s available on your Mac or Magic Keyboard.
If other users have an account on the same Mac, they can log in to their account by clicking Switch User on the lock screen.
