Export device info in Apple Configurator
Apple Configurator includes a window that displays information for devices—such as operating system version, serial number, hardware IDs and addresses, available capacity and its console log. Supervised devices also show all the organization info. You can export most of this information to a comma-separated value (.csv) file, or to a file formatted specifically for the Apple developer provisioning portal, so that you can give the info to your organization’s software developers who produce custom apps.
You can also view devices in two main views, by device collection or list view. You can use list view to sort devices by specific categories, such as product type, organization name, and updates. You can also add additional columns in the List view by control-clicking any column title.
Change the device view
In the device window in Apple Configurator
, choose List or Collection from the View pop-up menu in the toolbar.
View the Quick Look pane
In Apple Configurator
, select one or more devices.Do one of the following:
Choose File > Quick Look.
Press Command-Y.
Control-click the selected device and choose Quick Look.
View device information
In Apple Configurator
, select a device.Do one of the following:
Double-click the device.
Choose File > Get Info.
Press Command-I.
Control-click the selected device, and choose Get Info.
Export device information
In Apple Configurator
, select one or more devices, then do one of the following:Choose Actions > Export > Info.
Control-click the selected device, and choose Export > Info.
Choose whether to export a device IDs file (.deviceids) for the Apple developer web portal, or a comma-separated value file.
If you export a comma-separated value file, you can choose which information to include, such as the device name and capacity, serial number, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® MAC (media access control) addresses.
Click Export, then name the file.
To review device info in an exported .csv file, select the file in the Finder, then press the Space bar.
