Mac Pro (2023) and Mac Pro (Rack, 2023) Speaker

Before You Begin

Removal

1. Push the front of the speaker to slide it to the left.

   • Important: Avoid touching the circular speaker cone.

   

2. Tilt the speaker toward you to access the speaker flex cable that connects the speaker to the logic board.

   • Caution: Avoid damaging the speaker flex cable. A speaker flex cable detached from the logic board can’t be reattached or replaced. If the speaker flex cable is damaged, you must replace the logic board.

   

3. The speaker flex cable is adhered to the back of the speaker. Gently pull up the speaker flex cable to release the adhesive.

   

4. Lift the end of the speaker flex cable off the connector.

   

Reassembly

1. Press the end of the speaker flex cable to the connector.

   

2. Press the speaker flex cable to adhere it to the back of the speaker.

   • Important: If installing a replacement speaker, remove the adhesive backing from the speaker flex cable channel before pressing the speaker flex cable in place.

   

3. Align the keyhole slots on the back of the speaker with the speaker mount screws on the logic board.

   

4. Position the right side of the speaker in the speaker opening (1). Then push the left side of the speaker flush against the back of the logic board (2).

   

5. Push the speaker to the right to secure it in place.

• Mac Pro (Rack, 2023)

  • Top cover and access door (access door only)
