Prema Racing announced Tuesday at Callum Ilott will drive one its Chevrolet-powered cars in its 2025 series debut.

Ilott has 38 IndyCar starts with a pair of top-5 finishes. In three Indy 500 starts, he has finishes of 32nd (2022), 12th ('23) and 11th ('24).

The 25-year-old has driven for Prema, winning six Formula 3 European races in 2017.

"We had a great time working with him in Formula 3, and we always kept an eye on him after that," team owner Rene Rosin said in a statement. "He proved to be a great fit for us in the past, and I think he will feel like picking up something he had left off."

Ilott drove for Juncos Hollinger Racing in 2022 and '23, and filled in for two races at Arrow McLaren in '24.

"What an amazing chance," he said. "I love the racing, I love these cars and I love the team, so it’s great to be back to what they call the Italian family home."

Prema has a second seat to fill. It is the first new IndyCar team since Juncos Hollinger joined in late 2021.
