Carmen walked down to the pasture late that night, intending to double check on Ivory. The mare was far along in her pregnancy now, and she wouldn't be far from her due date. Vaulting the fence, Carmen darted through the grass, which was wet and soaked her jeans. In the distance she could see Ivory's cream coat, and beside her a dark shadow. She wondered if Beatle had gotten loose again, and how far her father stallion was behind the little Welsh Pony. As she drew closer; however, she realized it wasn't Beatle at all. A small, long-legged, blue eyed shape blinked at her in the darkness, and Carmen stared back in confusion.

Finally it clicked.

"Ree, you sly cow." The mare whickered approvingly, sidling up to Carmen as if to say 'look what I did'. Carmen ran her hand over the mare's nose, smiling.

"Yeah, that's you alright."
