Personal profile

Biography

I am a global health researcher and public health specialist with credentials in data science, global disease epidemiology, and clinical medicine. As an award-winning educator and academic at the Australian National University, I research health system strengthening across the six WHO blocks, focusing on chronic disease epidemiology and lead design-implementation-evaluation of scaled community health programs.  I have led the implementation of multi-country global health grants overseas(focussing on India &South Asia)- to advance health priorities related to chronic disease and maternal, newborn and child health. As part of the health system, I also undertake clinical population health research to strengthen healthcare delivery by designing, developing and evaluating feasibility (pilot) approaches using hospital data to identify unmet patient care needs and benchmark quality of care.  I hold public health faculty associations in Australia, the UK, and India.  As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh and London, I am passionate about multidisciplinary prevention research that improves community health and supports the health system delivery of patient-centred care addressing integrated care needs.
