I’m not sure about British English, but in American English, “to get some” and “get lucky” definitely refer to sex or “getting laid”, especially since they phrases are being used in the same verses. The writer of the song did not play with words here and make an error or try to be cute while thinking about wishing on a star, or sing about having fun. No. From my understanding, some say that women think of having fun while men think of having sex. But, I see it as both flirting with the idea of having fun while having sex. The song is about going out hooking up with someone , staying up all night for sex.
