CP3 strengthens our country’s ability to prevent targeted violence and terrorism nationwide through funding, training, increased public awareness, and partnerships across every level of government, the private sector, and in local communities.
What are Community Awareness Briefings?
Community Awareness Briefings (CAB) are provided by the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3). The CAB is a mini-training session that provides community stakeholders a framework to decrease the risk of targeted violence and terrorism by establishing and expanding local prevention networks. CP3 uses a public health-informed approach to targeted violence and terrorism prevention, administering the TVTP Grant Program (more than $50 million since 2020) to state, local, and tribal governments, and nonprofit organizations on an annual basis.
