Viral infections, their influence on some parts of the immune system and glomerulonephritis development
Abstract
Glomerulonephritis complicates the course of various viraemias. Aetiopatho-mechanism leading to the development of a particular form of glomerulonephritis on this background is differentiated and multifactorial. Viraemias affect the immune system, provoking a number of alterations of functional nature, discriminating both humoral and cellular responses. It also seems that neuraminidase enclosed in certain viruses plays a role in the aetiopathogenesis of glomerulonephritis.
