[Review: diagnostic methods for the detection of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) infections]
Abstract
This review describes methods that have been developed for the diagnose porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) infections. It summarizes the organs and tissues which should be sampled and the sampling times, and methods to detect viral RNA, viral antigens, and antibodies directed against PRRSV. The sensitivity, specificity, and limitations of the various tests are also described.
