About this app

Everything about iOS is designed to be easy. That includes switching to it. With just a few steps, you can migrate your content automatically and securely from your Android device with the Move to iOS app. No need to save your stuff elsewhere before switching from Android. The Move to iOS app securely transfers all kinds of content data for you:

Contacts
Message history
Camera photos and videos
Mail accounts
Calendars
WhatsApp content

Make sure to keep your devices nearby and connected to power until the transfer is complete. When you choose to migrate your data, your new iPhone or iPad will create a private Wi-Fi network and find your nearby Android device running Move to iOS. After you enter a security code, it will begin transferring your content and put it in the right places. Just like that. Once your content has been transferred, you’re ready to get going. That’s it — you can start using your new iPhone or iPad and experiencing its endless possibilities. Enjoy.

Move to iOS is pretty much the worst when it comes down to transfer to a new phone (such as an iPhone). I put down the code (from my new iPhone) and after selecting which ones I want to move, the app crashes. I do not know why - but after digging through to research, I realized that it was basically the MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) that failed to transfer. I tried multiple times too - app crashes on my S8. You might as well do it the traditional way (add contacts through the phone manually, transfer the photos and video traditionally through iTunes and reinstall the apps along with messaging your contacts that you switched over to an iPhone and are unable to retrieve the history of the previous messages). Even so forth that it could have been better if it would specify an error and which messages can't be moved rather than transferring and crashing during the transfer without any failure notification whatsoever.

This app is hot garbage. First, it says it's going to take several hours to transfer 300mb of messages even though I'm connected to very fast WiFi. Then the transfer fails...every single time. The furthest I've gotten is about 40%. Pretty tempted to return my iPhone and just get another Pixel. I wanted to give Apple another chance but this setup experience has been absolutely terrible. Not a good way to start.

text messages are alllll messed up, wrong dates and messages out of order. I was under the impression that it transferred apps as well but it only transfers the data for your apps, you still need to download the Apple version of your apps. But the mess it made of the text messages is something that needs to be addressed by the developers. And after looking through my phone it didn't transfer all the data and contacts...so rating goes back to 0, but I have to give 1 star. This app sucks.
