Larsa Pippen thought Teresa Giudice ‘was trying to be funny’ with viral Photoshop fail
Larsa Pippen found herself at the center of attention earlier this week after Teresa Giudice posted a poorly Photoshopped image of the pair at the beach for her birthday.
However, during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Hits 1 Miami with Mack & Jen,” the “Real Housewives of Miami” star explained that Giudice was just “trying to be funny.”
“She sent me like three photos and she’s like, ‘Should we be on a beach?’ and I was like running around and I just hearted the beach and I go, ‘We look great on that beach,'” Pippen, 50, recalled.
“[I had] no idea where we were. No idea where that beach is, but I just thought it was funny,” she continued. “I thought she was trying to be funny for my birthday.”
The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star, 52, went on to post a clearly edited photo of the duo wearing bathing suits.
“Happy Birthday to my girl @larsapippen wishing you all the best to come. Love you 💕,” Giudice captioned the now-viral snapshot.
However, it was obvious that Giudice cut them from the original image and pasted them onto a stock picture of a beach.
Although Pippen approved the photo, she was shocked when fans thought they were being serious.
“I saw they were like, ‘Photoshop fail.’ I’m like, ‘By the way, it was supposed to be funny!'” Pippen said.
She continued, “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. People really think that we think it’s real?’ No.”
Although Pippen admitted that Giudice could have chosen “a better photo,” she didn’t take the birthday post too seriously.
“I just was like, ‘Yeah, it’s great,” she said.
Giudice explained on “Live with Kelly and Mark” Tuesday that she was “scrambling” to find adequate pictures of her and Pippen when she decided it would be best to edit the photo.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s her birthday. I have to post a picture for her,’” she said, noting that the pair are “really close.”
“That was the only picture I came across,” she explained. “I said, ‘Oh great, summer!’ I just didn’t like the background.”
Giudice then contacted her “social media person,” who happened to be vacationing in Mexico at the time.
“And I’m like, ‘Perfect, take a picture of the beach! That’s perfect, we’re in bikinis! Put it like that,’” she said.
Giudice was mercilessly trolled after the image went live, with fans turning it into a meme by Photoshopping the duo into landmarks around the world.
However, the “House of Villains” contestant took the roasts in stride, telling her Instagram followers she was “loving all the comments lol.”
