It’s time to reconsider what was really the worst trade in Rangers history

There are divine truths one learns relatively early in life that never are questioned.

A prime example of this is knowing that Walter O’Malley is the most villainous creature who has ever lived in New York City. Another is knowing that Rick Middleton for Ken Hodge is the worst trade in Rangers franchise history.

But what if you become aware — and I hope my father can forgive me for this — that in actuality it was Robert Moses who drove the Dodgers out of Brooklyn across the continent to Los Angeles?

And what if all of a sudden you have to consider that Ryan McDonagh and J.T. Miller to Tampa Bay for Libor Hajek, Brett Howden, Vlad Namestnikov, a first-rounder and a conditional second-rounder at the 2018 deadline might have turned out worse than Middleton-for-Hodge?
