Prince William ‘found it easier to cut ties’ than be ‘continually annoyed’ at estranged brother Harry: expert

Prince William cut ties with Prince Harry because it was “easier” than being “continually annoyed” at him, according to a royal expert.

The Prince of Wales, 42, was this month reported to have placed an “absolute ban” on his younger brother ever returning to the royal fold.

The pair — who were once joined at the hip — have been completely estranged ever since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit royal life in 2020 and moved to the US.

“William is sensitive, he likes structure and has perseverance. He does not give up easily,” royal expert Ingrid Seward told the Mirror.

“His relationship with brother Harry upset him more than he would care to admit. But he found it easier to cut ties rather than allow himself to be continually annoyed.”

Earlier this week, another royal commentator said that William — the heir to the UK throne — has made a “tough and resolute” stand on his fractured relationship with Harry.

“William has always been a strong character,” Jennie Bond told OK! magazine. “I think his broken childhood made him tough and resolute.”

“He now has the reputation of being stubborn and, once his mind is made up, he sticks to his decision,” she added.

Bond suggested that William — who is two years older than Harry — has become the “enforcer” of the Firm since the death of their grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

“He is definitely someone who commands respect within the family and whose views hold considerable sway,” she said of the father of three.

Bond added that the pair’s already damaged bond was made worse with the release of Harry’s bombshell memoir “Spare” in January 2023.

In addition to the protocol-shattering book, the pair worked on a series of tell-all projects, each of which revealed new details about life in the palace.

The duo sat down for a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, and later released their six-part Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan.”

Unsurprisingly, the lucrative projects widened the existing rift between them and the Windsor clan.

What’s more, it has recently been reported that Harry is considering publishing a follow-up book.
