Jordi Fernandez is already leaving his forward-looking imprint on a Nets team facing a long road ahead

LAS VEGAS — Talk to anybody who knows Jordi Fernandez, and they’ll tell you the Nets’ new head coach is unwaveringly positive, for better or worse.

Meet Fernandez, and that attitude is as unmistakable as it is contagious. Think Ted Lasso, Little Orphan Annie-level positivity.

But Fernandez is no fool. He’s not naive.

With Brooklyn headed into a deep rebuild — one he was forewarned about by owner Joe Tsai and general manager Sean Marks months ago during his interview process — Fernandez is acutely aware there will be tough times before hopefully reaching better ones.
