Rumored Disney maternity ward at Magic Kingdom has expectant parents buzzing

Disney adults rejoice, there is a rumored special surprise that Mickey and the gang have been working on for all those who are expecting; a maternity ward inside the Magic Kingdom.

Which Disney fan wouldn’t want to give birth overlooking Cinderella’s castle?  (Just as long as It’s a Small World isn’t playing on repeat.)

When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true!

Like Rupunzels’ spinning wheel, the rumour mill is running overtime with this one. Apparently, giving birth at Disney World is possible, with a purpose-built maternity suite in the park.

The Magic Kingdom Maternity Ward is located above Casey’s Corner on Main Street, USA, and offers a magical setting for mums-to-be. The cost is a whopping $5,000 USD, almost twice the cost of regular hospitals (for those in the USA). What you get in return is the unique experience of giving birth while enjoying the breathtaking view of the iconic Cinderella Castle.

A new rumor has been sparked that Disney is opening a maternity ward. Disney World

Who needs an epidural when you have a view of a castle, and Mickey Mouse just outside the room?

But there is a catch: it’s Disney after all. One can only get into this maternity ward if they have a valid ticket to the theme park. The rumors also suggest that they’ve got some well-trained and experienced doctors working there. So, reportedly, the mother and newborn baby are in good hands for a happily-ever-after delivery.

In addition to medical expertise, the place is rumoured to offer unique keepsakes for newborns, namely buttons that read like this:

I was born at Disney World.

A certified photographer would be on hand to capture the magical moment, offering a package that includes pictures of the birth and post-birth moments in front of the castle and with Mickey Mouse.

But you wouldn’t be the first to have a Disney baby: A few babies have been born inside the park, with the first reported on July 4, 1979.

And here’s an interesting tidbit: there was a rumour a few years back that if you gave birth at the park, you received a lifetime free ticket. Turns out, that was an urban legend.

Is the Disney maternity ward real or is Pinnochio’s nose growing?

So, all that hype about this cool idea turns out was just made up and not true; maybe we’ll have to wait for our fairy godmother to appear.

A satirical Instagram account called Mouse Trap News came up with this wild story about the company letting women have babies at the Magic Kingdom Maternity Ward. Their original video has over 1 million views, with Disney fans aflutter at the thought of giving birth at the home of Mickey Mouse.

“Is this covered by insurance? Gotta start booking my flight now I’m already halfway through this pregnancy and have lots of new prep to do!” one expectant mother wrote in the comments.

“Imagine paying 5k and only being in there 11 minutes…” another (with a hopefully short labour time) exclaimed.

“Well, that makes sense since Disney has seceded from the Union. I’m guessing babies would be naturalized Disney citizens,” another joked.

While getting married at Disney World is possible, the idea of having a baby in the Magic Kingdom is purely make-believe. For now!
