This means insurance, servicing, repairs and much more is included in the price you pay. Plus, if you lease your first electric car, we’ll include a way for you to charge it.

Our next price list will be released on 1 January 2025. Remember, prices can go up as well as down.

What’s happening in the car market?

Manufacturers are continuing to focus more attention on electric vehicles (EVs).

This means there are fewer petrol and diesel cars in the market, making them more expensive to get on the Scheme. So, you might notice some Advance Payments have increased for these cars.

The cost to build cars has also increased in recent years. Many of the raw materials are more expensive for manufacturers to buy, which all has an impact on the price of the car. This is the same for all fuel types, including electric.

Plus, other costs are increasing across the car industry. Things like tyres, repairs and parts are going up in price, and insurance has increased by 25%*. This also has an effect on Advance Payments, as all of this and more is included in your worry-free lease package.

We’re doing everything we can to make sure we offer great value despite these challenges. We’re still cheaper on average than leasing elsewhere and have a wide range of cars to choose from, including many with no Advance Payment.

Top picks with no Advance Payment

These are a few of the cars on our latest price list without an Advance Payment.

This means you’ll use some or all of your weekly allowance to pay, but you will not have to make an upfront payment.

Top picks with an Advance Payment

White Mokka parked by a building

You can increase your choice of cars by paying a one-off, non-refundable upfront payment. We call this an Advance Payment.

It covers the difference between your allowance payments during your lease and the cost of the car.

Here’s a few picks from our latest price list.

New Vehicle Payment

Remember, you’ll get a £750 New Vehicle Payment if you order your first car by 3 January 2025. You can use this to help towards your Advance Payment. If you’re already on the Scheme and have not had this payment yet, you’ll get it with your next car. You can use our tool to check.

Thinking of going electric?

More than 50,000 customers already have an EV on the Scheme.

When you lease your first EV with us, we’ll make sure you’ve got a way to charge it as part of your worry-free package.

We’ll either:

  • Arrange and cover the cost of a home chargepoint and standard installation
  • Or give you a subscription to the bp pulse network of over 9,000 public chargepoints

Plus, you’ll get a Motability Go Charge card to help you charge on the go. It’s exclusively for Motability Scheme customers and gives you access to more than 50,000 public chargepoints through a single card and app.

Our lease package

You get much more than just a brand-new car with the Motability Scheme.

Our worry-free lease packages includes:

  • Insurance for up to three drivers (and this does not have to be you)
  • Servicing, repairs and MOTs
  • Breakdown cover
  • Tyres and more

How we compare

On average it’s still cheaper to lease through the Scheme than leasing a car elsewhere.

It’s also cheaper overall than buying a used car and getting insurance, breakdown and tyres separately.

Our cost comparisons can help you understand the saving you could make by getting a car on the Scheme.

**This is the amount of your higher rate mobility allowance which will continue to be paid to you by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This amount is based on the weekly allowance rate of £75.50 (as of 8 April 2024) and will increase if the DWP makes its annual allowance increase.

Prices for cars which state ‘Total Mobility Allowance’ mean that all of your weekly higher rate mobility allowance, including any increases, is paid to Motability Operations Limited.
