Setting Up an eSIM on Your Mobile Phone

1. Go to Settings
2. Select Cellular
3. Select Add eSIM
4. Select “Use QR Code”
5. Scan the QR Code using the Camera App until you see a message that says “MESSAGE"
6. Choose labels for each of your cellular plans
7. Set your default line

No eSIM in device:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Network & Internet
3. Select Mobile Network
4. Select Download a SIM instead?
5. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the eSIM setup

With SIM already in device:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Network & Internet
3. Select SIM cards
4. Tap Square arrow icon to right of eSIM
5. Select Download a SIM instead?
6. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the eSIM transfer

Before you begin:
• Both devices must be iPhone 11 or newer and have iOS 17.2 (or newer) installed.
• Your current iPhone must be active on Eastlink's mobile network to authenticate the transfer.
• Your current iPhone must be unlocked, has Bluetooth turned on, and is nearby (or logged into the same iCloud account).

To initiate and complete the eSIM Quick Transfer:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Cellular
3. Select Add eSIM
4. Select Transfer From Nearby iPhone. A one-time verification code will appear on the screen.
5. Enter the 6 digit verification code on the other device
6. Follow the prompts on both devices to complete the transfer.

Before you begin:
• Both devices must be iPhone 11 or newer and have iOS 17.2 (or newer) installed.
• Your current iPhone must be active on Eastlink's mobile network to authenticate the transfer.

Visit a retail store or call us at 1-888-345-1111 to obtain a QR code. A QR code is required to push your mobile profile to your device and activate it on the Eastlink network. Then follow the instructions above to activate your eSIM using a QR code.

Yes, you may activate any eSIM-compatible phone on any in-market mobile plan.

Yes, eSIM-only iPhone models are compatible and may be activated using eSIM on Eastlink network.

Yes, however, if you delete your eSIM profile you will need to get a new QR code to add your eSIM profile back and regain service.

No, eSIM QR codes are single-use only and will not work on different devices.

Yes, as long as the wireless provider outside of Canada supports eSIM and your mobile device model. Once you return from abroad, you may switch back to your Eastlink eSIM.

Dual-SIM allows the ability to use two phone numbers simultaneously on one mobile device. Most devices will require a physical SIM card as well as an eSIM to make use of dual-SIM.

While you cannot directly connect your smartwatch to Eastlink’s mobile network as a standalone device at this time, you can connect your smartwatch to your Eastlink mobile device via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to leverage your nearby phone's mobile network connection for the best smartwatch experience.
