Top Songs of 2021: USA
Hip-hop dominated the US charts again in 2021, and it just so happens that the people responsible for some of the biggest songs this year are—in name, at least—some of the smaller artists around. Lil Baby-featuring “Wants & Needs” by Drake holds the No. 1 spot, but not far behind them is a collection of bangers featuring Lil Baby (Pop Smoke’s “For the Night”), Lil Durk (Pooh Shiesty’s “Back in Blood”) and Lil Tjay (“Calling My Phone”). Baby and Durk, in particular, make plenty of appearances in the Top 100, but when you factor in selections from Lil Nas X, Lil Uzi Vert and the pop music powerhouse that is Ariana Grande, it’s clear that 2021 was the year that proved once and for all that size doesn't matter.
