DROELOE Essentials
As part of the mid-2010s future bass movement, DROELOE helped expand the world of bass music beyond chest-caving drops into something warm, dreamy and even emotional. From the beginning, the Dutch duo of Vincent Rooijers and Hein Hamers have aimed to push boundaries. Founded in 2015 as an audiovisual project, DROELOE quickly entered the spotlight with their 2016 breakout hit, “zZz”, and an official remix of Charlie Puth’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, adding a playful sparkle to the original via twinkling keys and whimsical synth drops. As DROELOE built their catalogue, they continued creatively pushing themselves, with 2018’s “Looking Back” featuring Rooijers’ songwriting and vocals for the first time. Their 2020 album, A Matter Of Perspective, was their last project as a duo. In 2021, DROELOE (now solely Rooijers) released “Strangers”, launching a new era—and a renewed challenge to keep evolving.
