About Tanya Tucker
Tanya Tucker is an award-winning country music singer-songwriter whose career spans six decades. ∙ Tucker’s breakout hit came in 1972, when, at age 13, she recorded a country version of “Delta Dawn,” which later became a No.1 Pop smash for Helen Reddy. ∙ The Academy of Country Music recognized her as the Most Promising Female Vocalist in 1972. ∙ With 1978’s TNT, Tucker undertook a radical musical makeover, leading to a Gold-certified album and a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female. ∙ What Do I Do with Me, released in 1991, produced four Top 10 Country hits and was her first album to be certified Platinum. ∙ She was the only woman included on CMT’s 2004 list The Dirty Dozen: Country’s Greatest Outlaws. ∙ Rolling Stone included her in its 2017 roundup of the 100 Greatest Country Artists of All Time. ∙ After 10 previous nominations, Tucker won her first Grammy Awards in 2020—for Best Country Song (“Bring My Flowers Now”) and Best Country Album (While I’m Livin’).
