About Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox
Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox is a musical troupe known for covering modern pop hits and transforming them into jazz, swing, and doo-wop songs. ∙ Founded by pianist Scott Bradlee in 2011, the group began as a few friends making videos in his living room and has evolved into what he calls a “rotating collective of musical outcasts.” ∙ Postmodern Jukebox rose to prominence when their covers of Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop” went viral. ∙ Four of their LPs were Top 10 hits on Billboard’s Traditional Jazz Albums chart in 2014, and their releases also made the Top 20 of the year-end Jazz Albums chart in both 2014 and 2015. ∙ The troupe collaborated with American Idol contestants Blake Lewis, Melinda Doolittle, and Haley Reinhart, whose cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” is the group’s most-streamed video. ∙ Their ever-changing cast of musicians has included Tim Kubart, who’s known as Tambourine Guy and has won a Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album.
